Important information regarding rescue packs for patients with respiratory conditions

We are aware that some inaccurate information has been circulating in the public domain regarding special ‘rescue packs’ for patients with pre-existing respiratory conditions such as asthma or COPD.

Patients will already have a COPD/asthma rescue pack if they are in the cohort of patients that this is intended for. Patients are being advised to not contact their GP practice for a rescue pack if they have not had one before.

They will be advised to manage their condition in the usual way and if they think they have COVID-19 symptoms, they are being re-directed to 111 online.
