I have been a nurse since I was 18 and have had a varied career. I trained at Torbay Hospital in Torquay and qualified in 1982. I worked in the acute hospital setting until joining Rolle Medical Partnership in April 2016.
I had experience in the Neurosciences and Critical Care and the last 18 years were spent as an Organ Donation Nurse. The main highlights of my career so far have been the many donor families that I had the privilege to work with over the years, and being nominated to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. I also sat with a panel of experts in the House of Commons for a debate on Organ Donation and Transplantation.
I work as a General Practice Nurse at Rolle with a special interest in Diabetes. I also take an active role in the research activities of the practice. I really enjoy my present job and meeting new people every day.
Exmouth is my home town and I live here with my son. I enjoy walking and appreciating our lovely part of the country. I volunteer at a local rugby club where I am responsible for ensuring adequate first aid provision and managing any concussion or head injuries for the players.
