Exciting Changes at Rolle Medical
From Monday 1st September, we’re introducing Total Triage at Rolle Medical Partnership.
With more people than ever needing care, GP practices are under increasing pressure. Total Triage helps us manage this demand safely, fairly, and efficiently – for both patients and staff.
Many other GP surgeries are already using total triage, and it’s making a real difference by improving access and patient care.
What is Total Triage?
Every patient request for a GP appointment will first be reviewed by a clinician. This ensures you’re directed to the most appropriate care, which might be:
- A phone or video consultation
- A face-to-face appointment
- A prescription or test
- Self-care advice
- Support from other team members like nurses, pharmacists, or physiotherapists
- Referral to other services or specialists as needed through established pathways
How to Submit a Request
You can access care in the way that works best for you:
- Online: Fill out a quick form on our website
- Phone: Call reception and speak to a team member
- In Person: Visit the front desk and we’ll help you complete a request
No matter how you get in touch, your request will be reviewed by a clinician.
Why We’re Making This Change
- Better Access – You’ll get the right care, more quickly
- Safer Care – Urgent or complex issues are prioritised
- More Efficient – Not every issue needs a GP appointment
- Continuity – We aim to connect you with your usual GP whenever possible
Continuity of Care – a Key Priority
We know how important it is to see someone who knows your history. That’s why one of the biggest benefits of total triage is improved continuity of care.
- We’ll always try to book you in with your usual GP or a clinician who’s familiar with your medical history
- This means fewer repeated explanations, better understanding of your ongoing issues, and safer, more personalised care
- Continuity helps build long-term trust and leads to better health outcomes, especially for patients with long-term or complex conditions
Total Triage isn’t about reducing access – it’s about improving it – by making sure every patient gets the right help, in the right way, at the right time.
We’ll be sharing more details soon.
